Cornelia was our buyer's agent as we searched for and found a lovely waterfront home in St. Michaels. Having purchased other homes, I was quite aware of what a good agent can do. I found Cornelia to be exceptional and, in this review, I explain why. In looking for an agent, I wanted someone that not only knew the area well, but also knew the specific houses that were on the market. I did not want to waste time looking at houses that were completely wrong for my needs, and I don't like to waste time with an agent who knows little more than what is on the MLS listings. After all, I can and, of course, did actively examine the listings myself. As a long-term full-time agent and a local resident, Cornelia was an expert on all the houses we looked at. In many cases she knew the entire history of the house when it last sold, who bought it, etc. information that could help us as buyers. As a result, our search was quite efficient. One thing I really appreciated was her enthusiastic and creative insights into the potential of every property we examined - a new door here or a window there that would greatly improve the property. Something that I was not expecting was her exceptional facility with technology. Cornelia implemented a tool that would provide us with new and existing listings of properties meeting our criteria, and as we put together and negotiated our offer, every document was scanned and PDFed. Communication by phone and e-mail was frequent. As we searched for houses, I found Cornelia to be fun to work with and, more importantly, she made us feel that we were her top priority as a client. Once we found a property, we learned of her amazing rolodex. She was able to recommend a wide range of top professionals to help with inspections, repair estimates, legal issues, zoning questions, settlement, and the like. I would highly recommend Cornelia as a real estate agent. She was the agent for the seller of a house we recently purchased in St. Michaels. We did not have an agent and, though we called her at the last hour requesting to see the house, she quickly arranged her schedule so we could do so. When she showed us the house, she was cheerful and informative (we have found some realtors to be rather grumpy as if they are doing you a favor by showing you a house) and even suggested some changes to the house (taking out part of a wall to open up the kitchen, adding a door and patio off the first floor bedroom) that made the house even more appealing to us. Cornelia, in my view is highly intelligent, knowledgeable about the area and industry, experienced, energetic and friendly -- all of the qualities I would want in a realtor if we were to hire one in the future!

We first called Cornelia about one of her listings, but when we met at her office, she listened to our interests, and took us out to see an additional 5 or 6 other listings, not her own, that were an even better fit for our hopes. She knows the area and the market so well, she can give practical advice about buying a lot vs an existing home, permitting issues, renovation possibilities, pricing and value. We arrived at the property for final walk-through to find Cornelia there ahead of us, finishing up negotiation with the seller's realtor to put money into escrow to remove some fallen trees we had not even known were down.
