Once your doctor says it’s OK to begin easing back into exercise, you’ll still need to be careful and strategic about your workouts. If you’re recovering from surgery, illness, or another injury, seated exercises are a great way to get fitness levels back up. slow, gentle movements and stretches are a great way to keep your muscles engaged while you’re recovering
the only thing you need is a stable chair with or without arms and some space around you. As your fitness progresses, weights and bands can be introduced.
you will need a laptop or tablet with ZOOM installed so you can attend the class virtually as currently, there are no in person classes.
zoom is a web conferencing application that allows participants to join a host’s meeting. You don't need to install any extra software to join a Zoom meeting. You can do it all through a web browser e.g. chrome, explorer. Click on the meeting invite link that sit and stay fit shared via email or text. If you don't have the Zoom desktop app installed, the page will urge you to download the app but it is not required in order to join the class
when you register to join sit and stay fit by either booking a group or private class, you will have access to your exclusive member area. You can browse upcoming classes, view self care videos and related health topics and also request to join the Private Facebook group so you can interact with other members.
You will access your member area with email and password that you during registration
for first time users you can attend the FREE introductory session and then book a class (or 6 classes) or even a private class via the website home page.
once you have booked your first class, you will become a member of sit and stay fit and can then book classes from your member area.
yes! sit and stay fit is geared toward ALL levels of fitness but everyone has different levels of comfort when it comes to exercise so it is important to start slow and go at your own pace.
The low intensity group or private classes are the best way to begin your journey to fitness and achieve your goals as part of a team

sit and stay fit will demonstrate all exercises in a seated position however if you prefer to stand for some or all of the exercises, that can be done as well.
where appropriate in a class or private session, there will be some standing movements where the chair is used for support
To build strength or to lose weight, it is important to incorporate three different types of exercise into your routines:
1. cardiovascular
2. strength training
3. flexibility
by performing a series of seated repetitive movements, it will raise your heart rate, help you burn calories and help loosen stiff joints.
many standing exercises can be executed from a seated position using dumbbells, resistant bands, or anything that is weighted and fits in your hand, like cans. This improves your strength
doing stretches reduce pain and pressure on your muscles and can also help increase flexibility as well as improve your range of motion.
it is well documented that regardless of your age, current physical condition, and whether you’ve exercised in the past or not, there are plenty of ways to overcome your mobility issues and reap the physical mental and emotional rewards of exercise.
when you exercise, your body releases endorphins that energize your mood, relieve stress boost your self-esteem and trigger an overall sense of well-being.
each sit and stay fit session is scheduled for 1 hour to allow time at the beginning for set up and introductions and time at the end for questions and feedback.
the class itself is 45 minutes long which includes a full body, focused relaxation at the end
a little exercise is better than no exercise but to see results, it is recommended to incorporate movement at least 2 – 3 times a week
yes! sit and stay fit offers private individual classes or private group classes with a maximum of 3 attendees.
you can select this option from the website home page or from your member area.
ALL first time private clients will answer a health questionnaire and list their fitness goals. This will be discussed over the phone.
an exercise plan will then be created specifically for you

yes! sit and stay fit offer classes at different intensity levels so that you can book the class most appropriate for you.
low intensity classes do not use any weights or equipment.
